    A great among greats !

In the Southern Rhône Valley, 2015 is rated as one of the best vintages in the last ten years.

The relatively generous water reserves combined with above the average temperatures, during the maturation stage of the grape, stimulated the extraction of mineral salts from the soils to the berries.

This vintage is noted for its exceptional varietal expression, combined with a good expression of the terroirs.

In the Southern Rhône Valley, we noted an exceptional level of maturity of all the grape varieties (particularly the Grenache), due to the almost perfect climatic conditions that prevailed over all the terroirs. This in turn has resulted in a slightly salty, ripe and generous mineral profile

The other grape varieties also attained a very good quality level. The Mourvèdre and the Syrah reveal all their potential with a good concentration of polyphenols.

An interesting phenomenon worth mentioning: in contrast to previous vintages, all the grape varieties ripened simultaneously. This meant that co-fermentations could take place between the different grape varieties, which resulted in more aromatic complexity and structure.

For this relatively sunny vintage, we targeted the northern part of the Vaucluse for our selections, having a preference for the parcels of old vines situated a higher altitude on the cooler terroirs. This meant that we were able to find a good balance between perfectly ripe grapes and freshness!
