This 2000 Châteauneuf-du-Pape is following in the footsteps of the exceptional 1972 Châteauneuf-du-Pape bottled in early 2020. These two crus share the same origins but have not undergone the same ageing process.
The 2000 Châteauneuf-du-Pape was aged according to Burgundian methods in wooden containers throughout the maturing process.

Terroir
This vintage in Châteauneuf-du-Pape saw plenty of sunshine and optimum levels of rainfall. There was no major hydric stress and the vines therefore suffered very little.
These vines are dense, fruity and powerful with exceptional structure and very good potential for bottle ageing.
This cuvée is representative of the terroirs of the AOP Châteauneuf-du-Pape and is made from plots of land composed mainly of sand, pebbles and red clay.
